January 2020 – West Wilts Flu Policy

Now that last year’s Flu outbreak has quietened down, we will no longer be routinely checking passports other than for BE and BD competitions.
We ask all owners to follow the BEF advise and reserve the right to re-implement the 6-month policy in full at any time. We also remind all owners that it is illegal to travel any horse without having the relevant passport available for inspection.

The BEF continues to urge all horse owners to ensure that their vaccination records are up to date. This is vital to help prevent the spread of Equine Flu. If it has been more than six months since the last vaccination, we strongly recommend that owners discuss a booster with their veterinary surgeon.
